Comprehensive Knee Care Program
Our Knee Care Program at KLS wellness institute offers a personalized and integrative approach to treating knee pain, focusing on identifying and addressing the root causes of discomfort. Whether your pain is due to injury, degeneration, or structural issues, our program provides a combination of modern medical diagnostics and therapeutic interventions to promote healing and restore mobility.
1. Detailed Consultation and Assessment
The program begins with an in-depth consultation to gather a complete understanding of your condition, including:
- Onset and Duration: To understand when your pain started and how it has progressed over time.
- Physical Assessment and Pain Scale: We conduct a thorough physical examination, using a pain scale to measure the severity of your knee pain and assess mobility limitations.
2. Diagnostic Testing
To ensure an accurate diagnosis, we perform a series of tests that help identify any underlying factors contributing to your knee pain:
- Blood Investigations: We check for inflammatory markers and micronutrient deficiencies (such as vitamin D, calcium, and magnesium) that may contribute to or maintain joint pain.
- Knee X-rays: To assess the structural condition of the knee, including joint space narrowing, bone spurs, or other abnormalities.
- MRI of the Knee: A more detailed scan to identify any soft tissue issues such as ligament damage, meniscal tears, cartilage degeneration or bony involvement.
3. Customized Treatment Plan
Based on your assessment and diagnostic results, we create a tailor-made treatment plan to address your specific needs. The knee treatment program typically lasts 7-10 days, with a combination of therapies designed to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and restore knee function.
A. Ozone Therapy
Ozone therapy is used to reduce inflammation and stimulate healing in the knee joint. It is either administered non invasively or injectable ozone can be given periarticular around the joint depending on the severity of the case.
B. Physiotherapy with Pain Modality
Our specialized physiotherapy program focuses on strengthening the muscles around the knee, improving joint stability, and enhancing flexibility. Pain-relieving modalities such as ultrasound therapy, IFT, TENS, Class 4 laser, Pulse shock wave, cold therapy ect may also be incorporated based on your case and pain severity.
C. Naturopathy and Alternative Therapies
We integrate holistic therapies to enhance the effectiveness of your treatment and promote overall well-being:
Janu Basti: A warm medicated oil is poured and pooled for a selective period in a pocket around the knee joint using a dough made of wet black gram flour to soothe and nourish the knee joint, reducing stiffness and pain.
Leg Massage and Potli Swed: A combination of therapeutic massage and herbal compress therapy to relieve pain, improve circulation, and relax the muscles around the knee.
D. Sauna- Infrared, Ozone and light Sauna
These heat-based therapies help reduce inflammation, detoxify the body, and improve blood flow to the knee joint, aiding in faster recovery.
E. Prism Light Pad
Light-based treatments stimulate healing at the cellular level, promoting tissue repair and pain relief.
F. Gut Cleansing and Detoxification
We also address inflammation from within through detoxification methods that can improve overall health and reduce chronic pain:
- Enema and Colon Hydrotherapy: These treatments help cleanse the gut, reduce inflammation, and promote a healthy digestive system, which plays a key role in pain management.
G. PRP knee
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is an advanced treatment used to alleviate pain and promote healing in the knee joint, especially in the early to moderate stages of osteoarthritis (OA). PRP involves using the patient’s own blood, concentrating the platelets, and injecting them into the affected knee. These platelets contain growth factors that stimulate tissue repair, reduce inflammation, and improve joint function.
PRP is particularly effective in moderate stages of osteoarthritis where the cartilage is worn but not completely lost. It helps slow the progression of OA, reduces pain, and enhances mobility. This therapy is recommended only if needed. It can delay total knee replacement but is not an alternative to knee replacement surgeries.
4. Re-Evaluation and Follow-Up
At the end of the program, we perform a re-evaluation of the pain scale and conduct another physical assessment to track your progress. Based on the improvements, we discuss a personalized follow-up plan that may include continued physiotherapy, lifestyle adjustments, or preventive measures to help maintain knee health.
